Homemade Gut Health Gummy Candy Recipe

These homemade gut healthy gummies are one of my healthier version recipes that look fancy, but are actually incredibly simple.

Equipment

  • medium pot
  • whisk
  • measuring cup
  • mold of your choice

Ingredients

  • 4 cups pure juice I used tart cherry juice (no added sugar)
  • 6 Tbsp grass fed beef gelatin
  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup experiment to find sweetness preference
  • 1 pinch sea salt I like Redmond

Instructions

  • "Bloom" the gelatin by sprinkling it over 1 cup of cold juice, just until it thickens and rehydrates the gelatin. 
  • Heat the 4 cups of juice on stovetop in pot. Do not boil!

  • Mix in the bloomed gelatin

  • Add maple syrup and salt to pot
  • Let it all dissolve over medium low heat
  • Once completely dissolved, remove from the heat and pour into mold
  • Wait approx. 1 hour to firm up or "set" and enjoy!

Notes

Calorie estimate is for 5 small gummies is 125 cals. Calories are challenging to estimate based on how much sugar is in the juice you choose to use. 
Tart Cherry juice can be expensive, so buy it on sale or opt for a less expensive juice like grape, apple, pomegranate, cranberry, and cherry.
Raw pineapple, papaya, kiwi, mango, guava, fig, and ginger juice do not work for this recipe
